Heber Valley Parkway Environmental Document Funded By UDOT

The $4 million needed to fund the Heber Valley Parkway environmental document was approved Friday morning by UDOT.

The Utah Transportation Commission unanimously approved the Heber Valley Parkway Environmental Document. UDOT’s Ivan Hartle presented the project to the committee ahead of their approval.

“The communities of Heber City and Wasatch County are trying to preserve a corridor for future roadway. During the previous planning study many alignment issues were identified. These cannot be fully resolved without going through the comprehensive environmental process. The outcome of this project will be used to coordinate planning efforts and show the traffic needs that impact essential infrastructure projects.”

The funds will be used for an environmental study which will identify a final route for the proposed Heber Valley Parkway. The study could take around three to five years. After the document is approved it could be another five to 10 years for the funds to be secured to actually construct the parkway.
