Envision Heber 2050 Announces Open House
Results of the 2019 Heber City General Plan Visioning Process Announced
Heber City, Utah – The confetti may have settled from your New Year’s celebrations, but Envision Heber 2050 is about to blow some horns and pop some poppers of their own. After a year of hosting and conducting a series of community meetings, workshops, open houses, surveys, and research, it’s time to celebrate!
Envision Heber invites all Heber City residents, community members, and stakeholders to an Open House on January 22 from 6-8 p.m. Envision Heber will be presenting the results of the 2019 Heber City General Plan process to the public prior to their presentation to Heber City Council. The Open House will be held at Heber Valley Elementary School.
During 2019 Envision Heber 2050 worked closely with residents, community members, and stakeholders to ensure that the new General Plan represented the community’s shared goals, current policies, and outlines innovative strategies for addressing a wide range of issues imperative to Heber City’s growing population. Once adopted by Heber City Council, the new General Plan will be used as a check on everyday budgeting, zoning, and planning decisions. As the guide for city decisions, city departments will use the plan as a reference when contemplating any change to standard operating procedures, land usage requirements, and zoning ordinances. While the city government manages growth and development through ordinances and policies, it is the actions of developers that will shape Heber City’s future. These developers, in turn, rely heavily on the guiding principles enshrined in the city’s General Plan.
The new General Plan reflects what community members would like to see for the future of Heber City and addresses the challenges and trends that will affect its residents for the next 30-plus years. Envision Heber 2050 is grateful to all those who have shared their unique perspectives and offered solution-based input toward a shared community vision.
